800m runner Justin Davies is set to make his Commonwealth Games debut this summer. Justin was born in Bath but he opted to represent Wales out of loyalty and love for his grandfather who is from Swansea.
“Representing your country is always special, but the Commonwealth Games are slightly different. This is a competition which I would watch as a child with the hopes of one day competing there. To be in that position over a decade later would be something I never thought would happen.”
He first started in athletics when he was 10 years old. But he sees the breakthrough in performance came when he joined University of Bath. He ran 3:43 in the 1500m and represented GB Juniors. After a severe ankle ligament injury in the following year, he switched to the 800m.
He made his Great Britain senior debut in March 2025 at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn. Later that year, he went on to win silver at the European Under 23 Championships in Norway.
Justin is a keen photographer and is learning Hebrew.
