He is one of Britain’s most accomplished athletes and holds the world record in both the F42 shot put and discus.
Aled Davies has competed at four Paralympic Games, making his debut at London 2012, and has amassed three golds, a silver and a bronze.
This will be his third Commonwealth Games. He will surely be looking forward to returning to Glasgow where he won silver, aged 23, in the F42-44 discus event. The proud Welshman was also named team captain – the youngest in Welsh history.
Four years later, at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, he stormed to gold in the same event.
Aled has struggled with pain over a number of years, overcoming surgery to reconstruct his hip which left him questioning if he could perform at the same level again.
But in 2025, he proved he’s still the man to beat, claiming his seventh consecutive F63 shot put title at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi.
Davies was the series three winner of Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who dares wins
