Social Running

01-large.jpg

Over 400,000 adults in Wales run regularly.

  • Running is a year-round social, accessible, inclusive activity that requires no specialist equipment and allows participants to take advantage of Wales’ many natural resources.
  • Running has been proven to boost people’s mental and social well-being as well as play an important role in both preventing and treating chronic health conditions.

An hour of running will increase your life expectancy by seven hours (Lee et al, 2017).

Run Wales is the Welsh Athletics social running programme, created as we recognise that everybody has a reason to run.

At Run Wales we support people and groups to run, jog and walk their way to a more active lifestyle. So regardless of age, fitness level, goal, background or location, everybody can be part of the Run Wales community. We provide friendly, supportive and inclusive running opportunities for everyone in Wales, and we’re here to help and encourage more people to run together in a safe and friendly environment. If you’re interested in getting active and giving running a go, we’re here to welcome you to Run Wales.
