What you eat and drinks affects how you perform. This is known as your Performance Nutrition. Performance nutrition mainly impacts athletes in these 3 areas:
- Maximising adaptation to training sessions
- Reducing training time lost due to injuries & illnesses
- Optimising competition day performance

Athletes are encouraged to #unleashthepoweroffood and take a “Food First” approach to their performance nutrition.
The Performance Meal wheel has been designed by the Performance Nutritionists at Sport Wales Institute to help athletes make choices that fuel, support and recover themselves from the demands of training and competition.
