Cardiff Sunset 5k - Pilot Road Race
Welsh Athletics will be hosting an invitational pilot event for elite athlete’s on Friday 18th September. The event will host 22 competitors in each race, in order to comply with current Covid-19 legislation in Wales.
Timings
17:45: Men’s Race (5km)
18:45: Women’s Race (5km)
Course
The race route will follow the course used for the popular annual Ssafa 5km Road Races around Bute Park.
The designated event area will be adjacent to the Blackweir Fields Changing Rooms.
Entry
Race entry will be by invitation only for athletes who have met the following standards or the equivalent over another distance; Men – Sub 15 minutes / Women – Sub 18 minutes. Please note that a qualifying time does not guarantee entry because of the limitation on numbers.
Covid-19 Measures
Current covid-19 legislation will require 2 metre social distancing measures to be strictly adhered to. Competitors must be aware that you will be allocated a starting position (seeded on qualifying times) which may be some metres away from the start line.
