Event Overview
The combined Welsh Inter-Schools & Colleges / Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday the 18th November at Dolerw Park in Newtown.
Races will use a new winding multi-lap circuit which is great for spectators.

Parking
Parking is available nearby across several sites. The main one is the main town car park (Back Lane Car Park) and may become full so please plan ahead and choose a car park that ensures that all guests don't try to use the same car park.

Details of car parks follow;
Back Lane Car Park: (also known as the bus station): SY16 4NH - Closest to Dolerw Park, Pay & Display
Ladywell House Car Park: SY16 1JB - Approx 800m from Dolwerw Park
Gravel Car Park: SY16 2AD - Opposite the Post Office, Pay & Display. Approximately 1km from Dolerw Park. the easist pedestrian route is along the river path.

Registration
Race HQ including the registration function will be based at the Red Welsh Athletics Marquee near the start area as indicated on the course map. 

Registration will open at 9:30. Numbers for the Inter-Regional Championships have been sent to regional team managers in advance.

Numbers for athletes competing only in the Inter-Schools Championships can be collected by athletes / School Teachers directly from Race HQ.

Numbers for athletes competing in the Primary School Races can also be picked up from Race HQ.

All numbers must be collected no later than 40 mins before the race start time.

The Venue
Newtown has been selected because of it's central position within Wales. The venue has been used in the past to host fixtures in the North Wales Cross Country League. 

Catering is available at the Hafan Yr Afon Visitor Centre in the car park, across the main river Bridge from the course. There are many other options available nearby in the Town Centre.

Toilets are available in the main car park, near Dolerw Park.

Welsh Athletics will be retailing at the event, near the Registration area.

The Races
The first race will be at 11:15. The races will host competition both in the Welsh Inter-Regional Championships, Welsh Inter-Schools Championships and Welsh Colleges Championships.
The races will use a winding / technical course that is undulating and is expected to be quite muddy in places.Team size and scoring is as follows;

Inter-Schools Championships
U13 - U20: School teams with no maximum limit on team members and 4 to score

Inter-Regional Championships
U13 - U17: 15 team members with 8 to score
U20: 15 team members with 4 to score
Seniors: 15 team members and 8 to score
Masters: 35, 45, 55: 15 team members per age group and 5 to score. 65+: 5 team members and 3 to score.

Please note that the M65 competitors will compete in the Senor / Master women's race.

Presentations
Presentations will be made near the Registration Marquee near the start area as soon as results are available following each race.
Where possible presentations will be made for all categories on the day as follows
Primary Races: 1st, 2nd, 3rd individuals for each race and for each gender.
Inter-Regional Championships / Inter-Schools / Welsh Colleges: 1st, 2nd, 3rd individuals / 1st, 2nd, 3rd teams

Primary Races
Our Primary School Races are organised in collaboration with 'Urdd Gobaith Cymru'.

There is one race boys / girls in year's 3 & 4 and one for boys / girls in year's 5 & 6, both 1,300m and at 11:15 and 11:30 respectively.

Prizes will be issued for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd individual athletes.

Closing date for ALL Welsh Schools & Colleges entries will be Monday 13th November 17:00 no later, there will be no late entries.
After Schools after submissions are received, they will be emailed an entry payment link.
