We were delighted to welcome Olympic Bronze Medallist Holly Bradshaw back to Cardiff, and she was delighted to clear a new Welsh All Comers record of 4m60 . Holly then kindly spent time having plenty of selfies and photo's with fans at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium who got to see and hold her Olympic medal close up. [Photo credit: John Smith]
Under cloudy but dry conditions, day two started with a high quality race walking field taking on 10,000m on the track. Bethan Davies, 2016 Commonwealth Bronze Medallist was on a mission to get the 2022 nomination standard and didn't disappoint - she took the Welsh title in a time of 45.21 ahead of Heather Lewis in Silver medal position wth 46.36, and the Isle of Man's, Erika Kelly was third in 51.56. In the men's race Tom Partington of Manx Harriers took the win in 43.43 with Guy Thomas first Welshman home in 44.05.
In the Men's Hammer, Team Wales Commonwealth hopefuls Jac Palmer and Osian Jones went head to head. Osian Jones had a consistent set of throws around 70m with a best of 71m25, Jac took silver with 63m92. In the women's competition, Amber Simpson took the win with 61m25, Carys Thomas the silver, and Ffion Palmer the Bronze.
There was a fantastic finish to the men's 5000m with Tom Marshall just pipping Osian Perrin to take another Welsh title, with long time leader, Lloyd Sheppard, taking the Bronze.
