England Athletics Indoor Combined Events Championships, 7 - 8 Jan
Welsh athletes enjoyed a highly successful weekend at the England Athletics Indoor Combined Events Championships at the EIS in Sheffield. Day 2 also featured the BMC Sheffiled Grand Prix, round up below.
North Wales Cross Country Championships, 7 Jan
The 2023 North Wales Cross Country Championships took place at Wrexham on Saturday.
Amie Smith of Cheshire Dragons won the Senior Women’s race with Ethan Ackroyd of Liverpool Harriers victorious in the men’s race. Denbigh Harries and Deeside AAC took the men’s and women’s team titles respectively.

Welsh Athletics Junior Open Day 2, 8 Jan
Day 2 of Welsh Athletics Junior Open took place this weekend at the National Indoor Athletics Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University. 412 athletes took part across 35 different events. Across the board, there were many great performances by the juniors, see the full results below.
BMC Sheffield Grand Prix, 8 Jan
Menai Track & Field's Osian Perrin was fourth in a high-class 3000m A race behind winner Phil Sesemann and world 1500m champion Jake Wightman. His 7:57.11 was his second fastest ever. Brecon’s Jack Organ set an outright PB of 1:54.16 as he finished second in the 800m C race.
Carmarthen Harrier Iwan Thomas was fifth in the 3,000m B race in a time of 8:44.55.
Brecon AC’s Jack Organ claimed an 800m P.B. in 1:54.16 to finish second in the C Race and Leo Stark clocked 2:00.71 to finish fourth for Newport Harriers in the 800m D Race.
Gwent League Centre League, 8 Jan
The second fixture in the 2022 / 2023 Gwent Leisure Centre League took place at Penallt near Monmouth on Sunday.
