Weekend Round Up 14th & 15th March

Here's a round up of what could be the last weekend of action for a few weeks, starting with the British Masters XC Champs in North Wales. [Write up: Owen Morgan, pic: Steve 'Smiler 'Smith via Twitter]
British Masters Cross Country Championships, Corwen - March 14
The British Masters Cross Country Championships in Corwen saw a number of medal-winning performances from Welsh athletes and clubs.
In the women's and men's over 65 race, Gemma Moore, of Eryri, was 8th overall but won a bronze medal in the women's-35 category where she clocked a time of 24:30.
Emyr Davies, of Rhedwyr Hebog, was 46th overall and won bronze in the men's-75 category, clocking 29.31.
In the same race, Julie Scholey, of Les Croupiers, was 53rd overall and third in the women's-60 race in 29:57.
Meanwhile, Ann D'albuquerque, of Gog Tri, was 73rd overall and won silver in the women's-70 category in 32:28.
Roger Harrison-Jones, of Prestatyn, won gold in the men's-80 category and was 82nd overall in 36:59, while Peter Norman, of Wrexham, was third in the same category in 44:39.
In the team events, Prestatyn were first with Wrexham second in the men's over 65 event. Prestatyn were also second in the women's-35-44 category and women's-45-54 category.
In the men's under-60s race, Huw Evans, of Les Croupiers, was seventh overall and picked up the silver medal in the men's-45 category in a time of 30:37.
Swansea Harrier Evan Lloyd came in 29th overall and won silver in the men's-60 category in 32:33.
In the team event, Swansea Harriers won gold in the men's-55-64 category.

Podium 5k, Barrowfield, Lancashire - March 13
Cardiff's Charlotte Arter (Chris Jones) enjoyed a comprehensive victory at the Podium 5K in Lancashire on Friday night.
The parkrun world record holder flew around the course in a time of 15:53, almost a minute ahead of her nearest rival.
In the men's race, Menai Track and Field's rising young star Osian Perrin (Andrew Walling) finished a highly creditable fifth place in a time of 14:48, behind World Championship 1500m fifth-placer Jake Wightman, who won in 14:30.

Cardiff parkrun - March 14
Cardiff parkrun produced the fastest men's and women's times in the UK this weekend.
Jenny Nesbitt (Chris Jones), of Cardiff Athletics, finished first in the women's race in a time of 16:39, to top the national standings. Piers Copeland, of Wimborne AC, won the men's race in 14:54, also the fastest time across the UK.
England Athletics Under 17 and Under-15 Combined Events Championships, Sheffield - March 14-15
There were some excellent performances by Welsh athletes at the England Athletics Under 17 and Under-15 Combined Events Championships.
In the Under-15 Girls Pentathlon, Cardiff Archer Sophie Lisk won silver with an overall score of 2,554, while clubmate Nia Powell was ninth with 2,364.
Gabby Dickson (Anthony Lee), of Cardiff Athletics, finished fourth in the Under-17 Women's Pentathlon with an overall score of 3,498, while Cardiff Archer Ellie Rose Isaac (Philip Warwicker) was eighth with 3,307.
The under-15 Boys Pentathlon saw Swansea Harrier Evan Cole finish eighth with a total score of 2,267.

2020 Liverpool Skyline Half Marathon - March 15
Swansea Harrier Liam Lloyd (Adrian Webb) produced an excellent debut performance in the Liverpool Skyline Half Marathon to finish eighth in a time of 1:14.13.
In the women's race, Jennifer Charlton, of Eryri Harriers, finished sixth in a time of 1:28.26.
