Lisbon Half Marathon, 12 March
Three athletes were selected to represent Wales at the Lisbon Half Marathon on Sunday.
In the Women’s Elite field Anna Bracegirdle (Salford Harriers) finished in 24th with a time of 1:15:39, with Olivia Tsim (Pontypridd Roadents) following behind in 26th in 1:20:01.
In the Men’s Elite Field Josh Griffiths (Swansea Harriers) finished in 27th with a time of 1:05:42.
Outside of the Welsh team, Ciaran Lewis (Les Croupiers) finished 37th in the Elite Men’s field, with a time of 1:10:04.
England Athletics U15 & U17 Combined Event Championships, 11 March
The England Athletics U15 & U17 Combined Event Championships took place at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield over the weekend.
Matilda Quick (Swansea Harriers) finished 10th overall in the Women’s U17 Pentathlon with a new Personal Best score of 3243. Quick picked up a number of personal bests, one in 60m hurdles with a time of 9.14 and another in the high jump with a height of 1.62m.
Nia Powell (Cardiff Archers) finished 12th overall in the Women’s U17 Pentathlon with a season best score of 3169.
Luca Phillips (Cardiff Archers) finished second overall in the U17 Men's 60m with a new personal best time of 7.24 seconds.
Mike Jenkins (Pembrokeshire) took England Para Championship Gold in the shot put throwing 15.09m
British Cross Challenge inc Inter-Counties, 11 March
In the Inter-Counties Championships, West Wales finished 11th in the U17 Men's race, with Iwan Thomas (Carmarthen & District Harriers) leading the team home in 13th and finishing 3rd overall in the U17 Men's British Cross Challenge series for a second successive season.
Beca Bown (Menai Track & Field) finished 5th in the U17 Female Cross Challenge field, and 15 overall.
In the U15 Girls race Libby Hale (Swansea Harriers) led West Wales home to finish in 14th.
Bryony Boyce (Cardiff Athletics) finished 10th for South Wales in the U13 Girls race, clinching the overall Cross Challenge Title.
Masters 10K International, 12 March
The first of this year’s master’s Road Internationals was held within the Chester 10km.
In the Women’s race Donna Morris (Builth & District) was less than 1 second away from an overall podium place finishing in fourth place overall and finished 2nd in the Women’s 35 category.
Laura Jones (Les Croupiers) finished just outside of the podium positions in 4th in the Women's 40 category, Sophie Cook (Builth & District) also finished inside of the top 10, finishing in 9th.
Luke Northall (Wrexham) was first home for Wales in a very competitive Men’s 35 category finishing in 8th and was quickly followed home by Martin Green (NWRRC), Dan Weston (Wrexham) and Matt Harvey (Swansea). Weston finished 2nd and Matt 3rd in the Men’s 40.
The next individual medallist was Huw Evans (Parc Bryn Bach) who finished 3rd in the Men’s 50 category and Lee Aherne (Parc Bryn Bach) was the final Men’s medallist finishing 2nd in the Men’s 55 category.
Chester 10k, 12 March
Continuing his build up to the London Marathon in April, Charlie Hulson (Deeside AAC) finished 3 in the Men’s race, competing the course in 30:09.
