Team Announcement: Mid Cheshire 5K International

Congratulations to all the athletes selected to run for Wales in the Mid Cheshire 5k race which is the third of this year’s Master International’s against England. The race will take place on Friday 25th August 2023 starting at 7-15pm. Once again teams are in 10-year age groups, with 6 to run and 4 to score.
The first two athletes home in this year’s Welsh 5km Championships at Whitchurch were automatically selected, if available, with the remaining places being picked on time. Parc Bryn Bach has the highest number of athletes representing Wales and Lee Aherne will be hoping to back up his medals from the first two internationals with another podium finish. Likewise, Donna Morris, Builth will be hoping to improve on her silver in the 10km international.
The Mid Cheshire course is one of the fastest courses in England, having hosted the English 5km championships on a number of occasions, and Welsh athletes will be hoping once again to pick up a number of individual medals.
The final masters international fixture of 2023 will be the Marathon at Chester on 8th October 2023. Teams have already been selected for this. Welsh Athletics hopes to repeat the Masters International programme in 2024 and further details will be posted.
