Team Announcement - Masters Cheshire 5KM International

Congratulations to all the athletes selected to run for Wales in the Mid Cheshire 5km race which is the third of this year’s Master International’s against England. The race will take place on Friday 23 August 2024 starting at 7.15pm. This year teams are in 5 year age groups, with 4 to run and 3 to score.
We have had a fantastic response to the Masters International programme of races and this team is without doubt the strongest Masters team that Wales has put out in a long time.
The Mid Cheshire course is one of the fastest courses in England, having hosted the English 5km championships on a number of occasions, and Welsh athletes will be hoping once again to pick up a number of individual medals.

The final masters international fixture of 2024 will be the Marathon at Chester on 6 October 2024. Teams have already been selected for this and can be found here.
Later in the year, Welsh Athletics will be picking teams for the BMAF Masters Cross Country International which is taking place in Belfast on 16 November. Further details of how to express an interest will be posted towards the end of the summer. Plans are already in place for an extended international programme for 2025 when as well as internationals on the road over 5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon, we will also be introducing a trail half marathon international.
