#SupportYourClub

15/10/2020 00:00, I Mewn Blog /

It has been a positive week for many clubs across Wales who continue to provide local training and running opportunities for their local communities.

Last week we saw a much welcomed boost for the sport - an update to the Return to Club Activity, which has allowed for an increase in the number of athletes and users of a facility. This has lead to a wider return to training activities with more athletes accessing dedicated athletics facilities across the country.

Local travel restrictions has lead to a number of clubs providing ‘club swap’ opportunities. Last week saw Swansea Harriers host a number of athletes from neighboring Neath Harriers, granting them access to training and coaching opportunities at the Swansea Harriers club base at Swansea University. We know that this practice has been replicated by many clubs across Wales and, once again, the way that clubs and groups have pulled together in the face of adversity is simply amazing.

The First Minister's announcement on Friday 9th October indicated that children would be permitted to travel out of lockdown areas to attend organized sporting activities. This was seen as a huge boost and a positive step forward. The announcement was met with much hope and expectation and we are awaiting further detail and specifics in relation to this prior to updating any guidance documents.
