Welsh Athletics are delighted to be able to open entries for the 2022 Indoor Senior and U15 Championships without any limits on the numbers of athletes able to compete.  After a period of uncertainty, we welcome the news that the Welsh Government will look to relax restrictions on indoor events the day before our Championship programme is due to commence.

We would like to thank our community for their patience whilst we worked our way through the various scenarios available to us during the planning of this event and we hope that the return of our indoor Championships for the first time in two years will be widely celebrated.

Head of Competitions, Rhiannon Linington-Payne said;

“The ever-changing nature of the restrictions in Wales has meant that until last Friday, we were looking at how we could deliver our Championships within the numerical limits set for indoor events.  We are delighted that we can now revert to ‘Plan A’ and open our Championships to the whole community.  We’re really excited to see the return of our indoor Championships in this hugely significant year for Welsh athletes and hope that it will be a key marker in preparations for both indoor and outdoor major Championships for many.”

Please note that a strict deadline for entries of 23:59 on Sunday 23rd January will be in place to ensure that we can timetable appropriately. Entries after this cut off will not be accepted.
