Sign up to the UK-Wide Officials Strategy - #AskUs Session Wednesday 12th January 6:00pm – 7.00pm 

Following on from the launch of the new UK-wide Officials Strategy and the virtual roadshows delivered by UK Athletics, we will be delivering a webinar on this topic specifically for Welsh Officials. We will be presenting how this new strategy will be aligned to officiating in Wales and key areas of focus for the next 12 months for the Officials’ community of Wales.  

We’d love for as many Welsh officials as possible to join us for this session to ask questions about the strategy, which sets out priorities for officiating until 2025 and the headline objectives that contribute to the wider UKA strategy for 2032.

What will you learn:

  • Understand the difference between walking and running
  • Know the rules of race walking
  • Know what the judges’ paddles mean
  • Begin to gain confidence in picking out infringements
  • Understand the procedures for issuing cautions and red cards and recording these
  • Understand the purpose and importance of the posting board and when/how the chief judge will disqualify a competitor.
  • Understand what makes a good Race Walking Judge
