Mike Critchley, one of the outstanding group of middle distance runners produced by Cardiff AAC soon after their formation in 1968, has died.
He was a regular member of the all-conquering Cardiff team which won virtually all of the Welsh team prizes in the late 1960s and early 70s as well as being a leading member of Cardiff’s record breaking British League team between 1972 and 1974.
He developed into a fine marathon runner and ran in the 1978 Commonwealth Games.
