Building on the road and trail masters international programme, in 2026 Wales will be hosting 3000m track international within the Tonypandy Classic, which also incorporates the Welsh Inter Regional Championships, on Saturday 13 June 

Athletes have to be eligible to compete for Wales and registered athletes in Wales. There will be two Master Races –

1. Men from 35 to 49
2. Women 50 to 64

3 athletes will be picked for each five year age group - i.e. 3 x M35; 3 x M40; 3 x M45; and 3 x W50; 3 x W55; and 3 x W60. 

Athletes are expected to pay their own race entry fees, make and fund their own travel and accommodation arrangements for Aberdare. All athletes representing Wales for the first time are entitled to a free Welsh vest and are entitled to purchase a kit package.   

PLEASE only express an interest if you are available on the date of the event.
