It is with great sadness that we share the news that Mary Davies passed away on Friday 1 November 2024.
Talgarth-based Mary, 86, was married to chief timekeeper Arthur.
Both were well-known as long-serving volunteers of athletics in Wales with Mary receiving a Welsh Athletics Meritorious Award in 2016.
Former club cross-country team managers may remember Mary as one half of the duo of ladies – Rose Johnson was the other half of the duo – who, for many years, dealt with entries at the five Gwent League fixtures each winter.
Mary’s funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 29th at St Gwendoline’s Church, Church Road, Talgarth, Brecon LD3 0BH.
Mary's family have kindly asked for donations to Parkinson’s UK instead of flowers.
