Day 2: Welsh U13/U17/U20 Championships Round-Up

There was a brilliant atmosphere for day 2 at our Welsh U13/U17/U20 Championships with two new Championship Best Performances!
In the U17 Women's 60m Hurdles Lilly Noble (Deeside AAC) took gold with a time of 8.87, after taking half a second off her personal best in the heats earlier in the day.
A new Championship Best Performance was set by Dafyydd Pawlett (Yale & District AC) in the U20 Men's Shot put with a brilliant throw of 16.56m! Mike Jenkins (Pembrokeshire Harriers) also won gold in the Ambulant U20's Men's shot put.
Luca Phillips (Cardiff Archers) was back for more following a stirling performance on day 1 and added another two medals to his collection taking gold in the U17 Men's Long Jump and silver in the U17 Men's 60m Hurdles.
It was a close contest in the U17 Women's 300m with young Lois Codling (Newport Harriers) taking the win with a time of 42.42 closely followed by Chloe Farmer (Cardiff Archers) in 42.48 and Anais Sheppard (Cardiff Athletics) with 42.52.
Five years after completing chemotherapy for Osteosarcoma Mia Lloyd (Carmarthen & District Harriers) took gold in the U17 women's ambulant shot put.
England's Etty Sisson (Charnwood Athletic Club) who was selected to represent GB last year at the World U20 Championships took the non-Welsh gold in the U20 Women's 400m with a time of 56.34.
Cardiff Archers took home four titles in the 60m. Nell Desir took gold in the Women’s U17 with a time of 7.61 closely followed by her teammate Aliyah Afolabi in silver with 7.76. Callum Webb took gold in the U20 men’s race with 6.91. Aron Tugwell took gold and set a new Championship Best Performance in the U17 Men’s race with a time of 6.94. And after much deliberation it was Samuel Riddle that took the U13 boys title with 8.64 in the final race of the day.
