161 laps of a track - Unique, inspiring, crazy? you decide, the Barry 40 is back!

The 35th annual Barry Track 40 Miles and 5th Track marathon takes place this Sunday at Jenner Park at 10.00 AM
Due to COVID Level 2 restrictions still being in place, this unique race will be held "behind closed doors" - only runners and volunteers (already confirmed) will be allowed into the stadium to participate in this inspiring feat of mental and physical endurance as competitors take on up to 161 laps of the track . The standard of entry has been exceptionally high again this year. Ollie Garrod (South London Harriers) looks a strong favourite to succeed Michael Taylor as champion, but it is the ladies race which looks likely to take centre stage this time.
Eve Bugler (Clapham Chasers), Valeria Sesto (Lymington Athletes) and Sophie Carter (Woodstock Harriers) all have outstanding credentials which could see a revision of the all time global rankings.
As ever, the event incorporates the Welsh Ultra Championships with 7 of the runners contesting the titles.
