Julie competes in the Commonwealth Games F42-44/F61-64 Discus final on Thursday 4th August 2022.

Incredibly, Julie Rogers – who is based in London – competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games in seated volleyball at the age of 13.

Switching to athletics after London 2012, she became one of the fastest female Paralympic sprinters in the UK, climbing to the world’s top five in the T42 rankings:

“I started athletics because my brother was already at the track doing the hammer throw and I fancied a change of scene."

She has since followed her brother into the throwing circle and is now preparing to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Games.
