Get Involved - Birmingham 2022

This summer there are lots of ways you, your friends and family can get involved and be inspired by Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. Here's a few ideas to get you started.

ATTEND THE GAMES

There is no better way to enjoy the Birmingham 2022 Games than be there live in the action watching the athletes compete! For full details on Birminham 2022, the schedule and how to purchase tickets, click here.

But don't worry if you can't make it to Birmigham this summer we have lots of other ways you can get involved and be inspired.

MARATHON CHEERING STATION

Join us on Saturday 30th July in Birmigham to cheer on our three Welsh marathon runners, Dewi Griffiths, Natasha Cockram and Clara Evans! We will be hosting a cheering station on the two lap course where you will see the athletes pass 4 times.

Bring your flags, banners, face paints and be ready to make some noise! Find out more details here.

SUMMER CAMPS

Over the summer holidays, Starting Blocs (powered by Welsh Athletics) will be working with local athletics clubs to deliver athletics camps to children across Wales for children aged 5 - 12. The Starting Blocs athletics camp will cover all the various disciplines of athletics, introducing children to the sport in a fun and engaging way. Delivered by our expert coaches, many of whom coach at their local club, children will have a great experience learning new skills to support them in athletics.

Details on upcoming summer camps are available here.

STARTING BLOCS

Starting Blocs is a fun, exciting program to introduce children aged 4 - 9 to the sport of athletics and get them excited ahead of Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Children will learn the key movement skills needed for a life in sport, in a safe and positive environment, through games that are designed to teach children the foundations of running, jumping, and throwing.
