The UKA Level 4 Endurance Course will take place on Sunday 4th May 2025 as a Virtual Classroom Course and is now available for booking. Please read the information below which contains further information.

An official who becomes Level 4 will be eligible to go onto the UKA Active List for consideration for major meetings and championships, which may include televised meetings.

Who should go on this course?

Level 3 officials wishing to move to Level 4P or existing Level 4 officials interested in updating their education and mentoring other officials.

What will I learn?

To understand endurance official's roles, including;

  • Course Director
  • Event Management
  • Start Director and Finish Director
  • Referee
  • Mentoring/ Assessment and Reporting

Is there an assessment?

Evidence of self-assessment and subsequent learning, this will be from the reports and from descriptive experiences on the Record of Experience along with evidence of mentoring i.e., candidates seeking or being offered and taking advice.

What do I do after the course?

  • Completion of 4 Self-study modules (available in post course resources)
  • 20 competition experiences, should include evidence of at least 12 experiences in senior positions, at events outside of their home region or home country, at Championship races including road/cross country relays or road races with over 10,000 competitors.  The 20 experiences must include both road races and cross country.  
  • Completion of 4 positive reports of the candidate's officiating (including one previously gained for level 3 accreditation).  UKA licensed events only (no ARC).
  • Submit completed Level 4 Application for Licence.


The course will take place from 10am until 3pm on Sunday 4th May and will cost ÂŁ30.
