A Coaching Assistant will be insured to take a coaching role working under the supervision of a Coach (Athletics Coach or an existing UKA Level 2 coach or higher).
The course outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Coaching Assistant, how it differs from the Leader and Athletics Coach courses and its position within the Coach Development Pathway. The basics of movement (biomechanics) will be taught and an introduction to the athletics events will be covered. Identifying the principles that underpin and improve performance as well as applying an athlete-centred approach to delivery are among the many areas covered during the weekend.
THE NEW COACHING ASSISTANT COURSE FORMAT INCLUDES
- 4 ONLINE MODULES (completed as prior learning before the course)
- 1-DAY PRACTICAL
Furthermore, the course includes a Mandatory Training Module, including First Aid Trianing and Safeguarding Certificate. The Mandatory Training Module needs to be completed to receive your licence.
Duration: Online Modules (self-paced, ideally completed before the course) + 1 day practical
Cost: £190 Affiliated £230 Non-Affiliated (reduced price because it is a trial course)
