Monaco Diamond League, 21 July
Two Welsh records in two weeks for Melissa Courtney-Bryant (Poole AC), as she broke the Welsh one-mile record at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday. Courtney-Bryant finished in 4:16.38 to break the 37-year-old record and to go second on the British all-time list, breaking the old British Record.
England Athletics Senior & Disability Championships, 22 & 23 July
At the England Athletics Senior & Disability Championships in Chelmsford over the weekend, the British Combined Events Championships tool place.
Lauren Evans (Cardiff Athletics) took gold in the women’s heptathlon, finishing the competition with 5323 points. Fellow Welsh athlete Grace Morgan (Cardiff Archers) finished fifth overall with 4910 points.
Both athletes registered season best performances in the javelin, with Evans throwing 32.53m and Morgan throwing 33.20m. There was another season best performance for Evans in the long jump, jumping 5.76m and Morgan registered a new outdoor long jump personal best with a distance of 5.60m.
London Diamond League, 23 July
There were Welsh athletes in action in London on Sunday. James Ledger (DSW Para Academy) was in action in the men’s 100m finishing in 11.65 seconds.
Whilst Jeremiah Azu (Cardiff Athletics) ran the first leg of the Great Britain 1 relay team in the 4x100m relay. A superb start from Azu helped GB finish second with a time of 38 seconds.
Welsh Junior Mountain Running Championships, 22 July
The Welsh Junior Mountain Running Championships took place in Caernarfon on Saturday. The race also acted at trial races for the U20 & U17 Welsh teams for the Junio Mountain Home Nations, which will take place in Scotland in September.

Helena Tipping Wrexham 10km inc Welsh Inter-Regional 10km Championships 23 July
In Wrexham on Sunday, Emily Kearney (Warriors Pentathlon & Athletics Club) finished second in the Helena Tipping Wrexham 10km, in a time of 34:05 minutes. Donna Morris (East Wales, Builth & District) was the winner of the resurrected Welsh Inter-Regional 10km Championships.
Rob Samuel (North Wales, Eryri Harriers) was the first Welsh athlete home in the men’s race finishing in eighth and winning the Inter-Regional title, completing the 10km in 31:06 minutes.
The event also hosted the fourth fixture in the Welsh 10k Series.
