Marathon Eryri, 28 October
The picturesque Marathon Eryri returned to the roads of Snowdonia on Saturday.
In the women’s race, Alaw Evans (Les Croupiers) took victory completing the course in 2:58:07. Gillian Allen (Steel City) was the second athlete home with a time of 3:04:46, and Caryl Edwards (Swansea Harriers) completed the podium positions finishing in 3:05:08.
In the men’s race, there was a new course record set by Marshall Smith (Ashford AC) who completed the marathon in 2:31:56. There was a great performance by Jacob Tasker (Ogmore Phoenix) who was the first male Welsh athlete across the finish line. Tasker finished just outside of the podium positions in fourth overall with a time of 2:35:24.
