Anglo Celtic Plate 100K, 2 April

At the 28th Anglo Celtic Plater 100k Championships the Welsh Record was broken by Daniel Rothwell (Swansea Harriers) with a time of 6:43:25, 30 seconds inside of the Welsh Record which was set in 1989. Rothwell finished in the podium positions, finishing 3rd overall.

Competing for Wales, Samuel Richards (Pontypridd Roadents) placed 20th in a time of 7:44:36 followed by Nathan Flear (Gorseinon Road Runners) 7:47:11. Unfortunately, Mike Kallenberg had to retire after 10 laps.

Joey Haines Invitational, 31 March

On Friday the Southeast Missouri State University hosted the Joey Haines Invitational, which saw Birmingham Commonwealth Games athlete Amber Simpson (Wrexham / Memphis) break the Welsh Senior Womens Hammer Record with a distance of 67.08m. The previous record was set back in 2014.

Pepsi Florida Relays, 1 April

On Saturday in Gainesville Florida Sarah Omoregie (Cardiff / Harvard) set a UK lead in the Shot Put with a distance of 17.21m, a Personal Best by 13cm.

2Wish Great Welsh Marathon & Half Marathon, 2 April

On Sunday the 2WISH Great Marathon Events took place at Pembrey Park, with runners competing over the marathon and half marathon distances.

In the Women’s marathon, Kelly Dicks (Great Western Runners) was the first finisher with a time of 2:58:28.

Blair McWhirter (Swansea Harriers) was the first overall finisher with a time of 2:28:48.

Over the Half Marathon distance, Hannah Munday was the first female athlete across the finish line with a time of 1:26:36.

Dewi Griffiths (Swansea Harriers) was the first to finish overall and in the men’s race, finishing in 1:03:48.
