Tuesday 8th of August – An evening of finals

On Tuesday Storm Evans (Carmarthen & District Harriers) and Joseph Rees Gara (Wigan & District) were in action in the evening session.
First to compete was Storm Evans (Carmarthen & District Harriers) in the women’s discus final. Evans finished fourth registering a best distance of 40.75m.
In the first round, the Carmarthen & District Harrier threw 40.12m to open her competition and followed up the first-round throw with 40.75m in round two. Evans threw 39.51m, 39.14m and 39.36m in the remaining rounds and registered a no throw in round 4.
Taking to the track was Joseph Rees Gara (Wigan & District) in the men’s 1500m final. On Monday the Wigan & District athlete qualified fourth in his heat with a time of 4:11.84.
Rees Gara finished eighth in the final with a time of 3:55.05, just shy of his personal best performance set earlier this season.
