Travelling to train is not permitted

Welsh Athletics has been made aware that a number of athletes and coaches have been travelling to train at a facility in RCT. The Welsh Assembly Government have issued clear guidance that prohibits travelling for all non-essential activities, this is reinforced by Welsh Athletics’ own guidance.
Welsh Athletics advocates in the strongest terms that every member adheres to the guidance issued by the Welsh Assembly Government and does all it can to help minimise the spread of COVID to keep Wales safe and protect our NHS.
‘We appreciate how challenging the current restrictions are for our athletes, but if we want to see our sport return, then it is essential that we all play our part and stay within the guidance issued by Welsh Government. Our members have demonstrated how resourceful they can be during previous lockdowns, we all now need to show the same resolve and creativity to help get through this current lockdown.’
