Chris Moss to lead Development at UKA

Welsh Athletics can confirm that its head of Development and Participation Chris Moss is to be seconded to UK Athletics to fulfil the interim role of Director of Development for a 6 month period.
As a result, Hannah Pretty will become the Interim Head of Development and Participation for Welsh Athletics. An interim Regional Development Officer for South Wales will be announced in due course.
Chris will begin his new role next week, but will continue to work one day per week for Welsh Athletics until the end of January to ensure a smooth transition and for certain projects to be completed. The appointment has been made possible through the close working partnership with Welsh Athletics who have enabled Chris to second to UK Athletics in order to support the delivery of the vital area of Development.
UK Athletics Interim CEO Mark Munro said:
“We are grateful to Welsh Athletics for allowing Chris to join us for this interim period and provide support for the development team. It is essential the progress we have made and continue to make in this vital area doesn’t pause whilst I am fulfilling the CEO role, and in Chris we know we have a really strong individual who can continue to take things forward.”
Welsh Athletics CEO James Williams added:
“UK Athletics and the Home Countries are committed to working together to support the development of the sport. Huge progress has been made with the recent launch of the coaching and officials strategy, and its vital that this work continues. This is a great opportunity for both Chris and Hannah and I am sure both will gain valuable experience that will only benefit athletics in Wales in the long term.”
