Welsh Athletics are excited to announce the launch of the Young Athletics Ambassador (YAA) group! The YAA programme will provide a platform to represent the voices of Young Athletes, be involved in decision-making and share their ideas and opinions to support initiatives and programmes across Wales.
Libby, our Inclusion and Engagement Coordinator, said:
"It is really exciting that the Young Athletics Ambassadors programme has been launched, it will give a platform for our Young Athletes to share their voice, be involved in decision making at Welsh Athletics and to represent their fellow athletes across Wales.
I am looking forward to seeing how this group will flourish over the coming months and provide an exciting opportunity for these young athletes!"
Thirteen YAAs aged 14-20 from across Wales have joined the group. There are athletes from a variety of athletic disciplines, clubs, and regions across Wales who make up a diverse and representative group that reflects our Young Athlete landscape. We are still looking for two young para-athletes aged 14-20 from any discipline to be a part of the group so please get in touch if you want to get involved!
The Young Athletics Ambassadors are:
Tiana Odugbesan (Cardiff Archers)
Katy Griffiths (Bridgend Athletics)
Owen Monk (Caldicot Running Club)
Madison Hughes (Maldwyn Harriers)
Evie Hughes (Wrexham Athletics Club)
Fraser Higginson (Bridgend Athletics)

Hari John Holt (Menai Track and Field)
