Weekend Round up - Action from the 26th to the 28th

Following on from the spectacular story on Friday 26th where we had several athletes achieve their qualifying standards for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, read the full report here, we look at some more of the action that happened over the weekend:
- At the Winthrop Invitational, on the 26th of March, Elliot Richards competed in the 5,000m. Richards ran a SB of 15:18.24 to finish 10th in his race.
- A woman who is showing she is in fine form stepped onto the track again. Emily Kearney (Ronan Kearney) competed at the Montreat College Invitational. Kearney added another win to her streak, winning the 10,000m in a lifetime best of 33:09.65 taking over 2minutes off her previous best! Continuing the results from Montreat, Cardiff athlete Sam Lloyd Perks (coached by Welsh distance running Guru James Thie) also competed in the 10,000m where he ran a SB of 32:20.29 finishing 6th.
- Moving on to the OLE Miss Classics on the 26th March, Hammer Thrower Amber Simpson (John Parkin) continues to show great form, throwing a new lifetime best of 61.70 to come 4th and get within just 30cm of the 62 metre Commonwealth Games Nomination standard.
- Finishing up the report we once again head to the Winthrop Invitational, on the 27th of March, in his 2nd outing of the year, Samuel Roberts competed in the 1500m at the Winthrop Invitational on the 27th March. Roberts won the race in a SB time of 4:08.11.
