SIAB Combined Events International, Glasgow – Nov 30

A strong Welsh team made their way to the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday for the SIAB Combined Events Championships.

 

The U16 boys won a Bronze team medal with a stand out performance and individual bronze for Dylan Morgan. This was followed by a team silver medal from the U16 girls team.

Welsh Athletics Junior Open (Inc South, East & West Wales Regional Championships), Cardiff – Dec 1

Last Saturday saw the first in a two part series of Junior Open Meetings which will incorporate some of the South, East and West Wales Regional Championship events.

There were some stand out performances on the day particularly from Olivia Gillespie from East Wales in the U15 girls 200m with the quick time of 26.22. Ryan Edwards from East Wales and Evan Jones from South Wales also had good runs clocking sub 24 in the U17 boys 200m.

Ruby Jones from West Wales also showed an impressive performance in the U15 girls High Jump with a big jump of 1.56m to win the competition from Kimberley Knight on countbacks.

Valencia Marathon, Valencia, Spain – Dec 1

Charlie Hulson made is debut in the Marathon yesterday clocking a quick 2:14.23. Andrew Davies also came home with a new personal best of 2:14.36. This moves both men in 2nd and 4th in Wales for 2019 respectively. Andrew’s performance also betters the previous V40 British best in the Marathon.

Elinor Kirk also had a good race, gaining an new personal best as well in 2:34.36. This moves her up to 5th in Wales on all time list and 2nd in 2019.

North Wales Junior Cross Country League, Bangor – Nov 30

It was a battle between Menai and Deesdie on Saturday at the North Wales Junior Cross Country League with Deeside taking the team wins in both U11 categories and the U13 girls and U15 girls categories.

However, Menai did not let them have a full sweep and stole the wins in the U13 boys and U15 categories.
