Welsh Inter-Regional and Inter-Schools Cross Country Championships, Brecon – November 16

Alaw Beynon-Thomas and Matthew Edwards were comfortable winners of the senior races at the Welsh Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday with South Wales retaining their overall team title by a margin of 28 points over East Wales.

British and Irish Masters Cross Country International, Aintree – November 16

A strong Welsh team made their way over to Aintree to challenge for a medal at the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International.

There were some stand out performances from Team Wales.

In the M65+ & W65+ category, Elio Lepore came in 11th running 24:12 & Kevin Hesketh came in 12th in 24:24. Hazel Davies finished in 13th coming in at 30:40

In the W35-W60 category, Katie Beecher finished 7th in her category in 22:54. Close behind her was Gemma Moore who finished 11th in her category in 22:59.

In the M50-M60 category, Lee Aherne ran a strong race to finish 10h in his category in 27:55

Gwent Leisure Centre League, Pontypool Park – November 17

In the Men’s race, Jamie Parry of Parc Bryn Bach took his second win of the league which means he sits at the top of the table so far. He was followed by James Blore from Chepstow Harriers.

In the Women’s race, Sandra Chipper from Lliswerry Runners came home first in the second fixture with Lizzie Dimond from Lliswerrry Runners replicating her 2nd place performance to help her move to the top of the table replacing Lauren Cooper.

Preston 10

Andy Davies (Stockport/Merica Fell) took the race win in Preston with a new 10-mile PB of 49.10 - good going for a V40! and there was more Welsh success in the women's race as fellow Gold Coast Marathon survivor, Elinor Kirk (Swansea) continued her return to form, winning in 55.51 - also a PB. Eli's next stop will be the Valencia Marathon on 1st December. Full Results

Conwy Half Marathon, Conwy – November 16

Results  - Adam Bull (Aberdare VAC) took second place in a PB of 68.48, just 20 seconds behind race winner, Gary Priestley of Salford.
