Weekend Round Up - Simpson and Jones Secure Their 2nd Standard!

We start this Weekend round-up at the War Eagle Invitational (US) where Deeside athlete Amber Simpson is showing us how hard she has worked this year. On the 16th of April Simpson competed in the Hammer Throw where she secured her 2nd standard of the year where she launched the hammer to a new PB of 64.65m.
Also in the US, at the Bryan Clay Invitational, on the 16th of April Elliot Slade is showing great consistency running another sub-1.50 over the 800. Slade front ran a tactical race winning in 1.49.98. Slade also competed on the 17th in the 1500m running 3:59.22.
At the Loughborough Spring Throws, Osian Jones (Carys Parry) headed out to the throwing circle again throwing another Commonwealth Games standard of 69.73. With that throw, Jones now also has 2 qualification standards under his belt. Jac Palmer (Adrian Palmer) threw a SB of 66.00m which is only 3m off the standard.
Our Futures Athlete, Tom Hewson ( Mark Bradford ) threw a 69.26m in the Javelin and James Tomlinson (Paul Jensen) threw a PB of 55.58m with the 2K discus which is just 5 meters off the Commonwealth qualification standard of 60.50m. Finally, Sabrina Fortune (Ian Robinson) threw 12.18m in the Shot Put.

On the 10th of April Zachary Price (Barry Edwards) competed in Stretford over the 100m running 11.04 +0.3. Price also competed in the 200m where he ran 22.24 +1.6
Swansea Harrier Steffan Dylan Jones (Darrell Maynard) had a busy weekend on the 11th of April on the track is quickly becoming one of the hot spots for sprinting in the UK. Jones competed in the 100m and 400m running 10.23 -0.6 and 48.70.
