Weekend Round Up – Simpson gets her Standard

It was only a matter of time for our US-based athlete Amber Simpson to throw a Commonwealth Games qualifying standard in the Hammer throw. Simpson had been showing incredible form in her early competitions so she must have been feeling confident. Amber Simpson competed at the Crimson Tide Invite on the 10th of April where she threw 62.03 just edging the qualifying mark of 62.00. With the qualifying mark in the bag, Simpson can now start to look at really pushing for a big throw! Simpson also competed in the Discus, throwing a PB of 41.35m.
US-based athlete Bethan Evans competed at the Crimson Tide Invite where she competed in the 1500m coming 3rd in a SB of 4:46.91.
