Weekend Round up – Personal Best’s and Seasons Best Galore

It was a busy weekend in Stretford - Trafford Grand Prix. Welsh athletes competed in events from the 800m to the 5000m posting very impressive times!
Starting with the 800m Cardiff athlete David Locke (Sonia McGeorge) ran a great race to run a PB and his first 1.50 clocking of 1:49.98.
In the 1500m, James Heneghan (James Thie) Pb’d running a 3:43.10, Benjamin Reynolds (Arwyn Davies) also ran a PB in 3:48.82. The women also got involved with posting some quick times – Ellen-Mary Kearney Pb'd with 4:32.38, Menai athlete Samia Jones (Stephen Livett) ran a SB of 4:40.68, Amiee Callow (Liz Davies) Pb’d with a 4:41.13.
Finally, to round off the Stretford - Trafford Grand Prix round up, we finish with the 5000m. Kristian Jones ran a 13:53.25.
Jennifer Nesbitt (Chris Jones) is still in hot pursuit of her Commonwealth Games qualification time. Nesbitt ran a SB of 15:40.10 and Beth Kidger (Joel Kidger) Pb’d with 15:53.60.
Amy Odunaiya (Trevor Painter) made a start to her 2021 campaign on the 9th May in Stretford - Trafford Senior Open in the 200m. Odunaiya ran a 24.67 -0.8.
To round off the report, one of our members of the Junior Athlete Voice Sadie Graham-Mulvaney (Kevin Williams) competed in the Triple Jump, jumping a PB of 10.03.
It was also great to see many of our junior athletes compete and post many great times at the Yeovil Distance, Steeplechase & Jumps Open!
