Welsh U13/U17/U20 Indoor Championships, 4 & 5 February
Our second Indoor Championships of the year took place at the National Indoor Athletics Centre over the weekend, with over 400 athletes competing across 95 events. From personal bests to Championship Best Performances, we saw it all.

BUCS Cross Country Championships, 4 February
There was great representation of Welsh athletes at the 2022-23 Bucs Cross Country Championships in Pembrey Country Park on Saturday.
In the men's long course with 7 Welsh athletes finished within the top 40. First home was Mike Ward (Birmingham Uni) in 10th, followed by Adam Barber (Leeds Beckett Uni) in 14th. The leading Welsh Uni in the same race was Cardiff Uni in 4th, their best BUCS Cross Country Championship result. They were led home by Welsh athletes James Heneghan (16th), Ciaran Lewis (22nd) and Alex Jackson (39th).
In the women's long race the first Welsh athlete across the finish line was Lauren Cooper in 30th (Cardiff Uni). The leading Welsh based Uni was Cardiff Met finishing in 10th.

World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold - New Balance Indoor Gran Prix, 4 & 5 February
There were several Welsh athletes competing at the brand-new New Balance arena over the weekend in Boston, USA.
Melissa Courtney Bryant (Poole AC) finished second in the women’s 3000m with 8:41:09, finishing behind current European Champion over 1500m Laura Muir in what was an all-British podium. Whilst Jenny Nesbitt (Pontypridd Roadents) finished 11th in the same race, with a time of 9:09.83. In the men's 3000m Osian Perrin (Menai Track & Field) ran a season best with a time of 7:55:74.

USA Jaguar Invitational, 5 February
Over in Amercia, Amber Simpson (Wrexham/Memphis) broke her own Welsh Record in the weighted throw (discipline only now takes place in America), with a distance of 20.81m.
World Athletics Indoor Tour Challenger - 10. Breuninger Hallenmeeting - 3 February
In Germany, Cari Hughes (Cardiff Athletics) finished first in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:15:46.
4J Studios Senior & Under 17 Championships, 4 February
There were two medals for Welsh athletes in the 200m in Glasgow over the weekend. With Hannah Brier (Swansea Harriers) finishing in silver medal position with a time of 23:67 and newly crowned senior Welsh Champion over 60m, Hannah Longden (Cardiff Athletics) taking bronze with a time of 23:87.
Vault Manchester, 4 February
In Manchester Thomas Walley (Wrexham) finished second in the senior men's pole vault with a height of 5.01.
Mesa Half Marathon Phoenix, 4 February
Rosie Edwards who was recently selected to run in the British women's elite field at the London marathon, finished in 36 position with a time of 73:07.
Reverse 10 - 5 February
In the race hosted by Pontypridd Roadents, it was Sioned Howells (Swansea Harriers) who won the senior women's race with a time of 59:48.
Jacob Tasker (Ogmore Phoenix Runners) was the first runner home overall and in the senior men's race, finishing it 54:49.
