PONTYPRIDD ROAD RELAYS - PONTYPRIDD, SEPTEMBER 29
The scenic Ynysangharad Park played host to the latest successful staging of the Pontypridd Road Relays.
The event, organised by Pontypridd Roadents AC, was staged on a 2.07 lap of the park an featured open, ladies and junior races.
The open race was won by Team Thie All-Stars in a time of 36:09. The team was made up of Ethan Esteban, Cian Harold, Jacob Parry, Callum Campion, James Peck and Ben Claridge, who clocked the fastest individual time of 5:43 for the team.
In second place was Pontypridd Roadents All Stars, who clocked a total time of 36:36. Their team consisted of Daniel Smith, Ben Hughes, Tom Baird, Josh Smith, Connor Hood and James Henneghan, who was their fastest runner with 5:52.
Third spot went to the Met Athletics team of Adam Leworthy, Harry Harvey, Oli Smith, Dion Griffith and Isaac Arnott, who finished in 36:47, with Adam Ede recording their fastest time of 5:56.
The honours in the ladies race went to the Les Croupiers Wildcats, who completed the course in 32:04. The winning team was made up of Cassia Copeland, Bryony Eames, Ella Jennings and Jess Wadey, who ran their fastest leg of 7:42.
Pontypridd Pacers finished second in 32:27. The team was made up of Bethan Butler-Madden, Josie Wheeler, Stephanie Davies and their fastest finisher Kristie O’Connell-James, who completed her lap in 7:18.
Third in 33:00 were Aberdare Youth, who featured Isabelle Lewis, Lily Jacklin, Megan Swanson and their quickest runner Megan Quirk, who recorded 7:54.
The winning veterans team in the open race was Aging Like Fine Wine (Les Croupiers RC), who finished 13th overall in 45:52, while the winning veteran team in the ladies race was Ponty Roadents Ladies Vets, who finished sixth in 36:33.
