Trofeo Vanoni and Vanoni Femminile, Italy

A team of three men and one women headed to Italy on the weekend to take part in the 65th TROFEO VANONI (International Mountain Running Relay Race) and the 39th VANONI FEMMINILE (International Mountain Running Individual Ladies Race). The event has been twinned with the Snowdon International race since 1980 whereby the host club CSI Morbegno teams compete in the Snowdon International Race and vice versa, the Snowdon International Race send a team to compete in the Trofeo Vanoni.

For Katie Reynolds (Eryri Harriers), it was an outstanding result, with a 12th place finish, in a time of 24:52 for the gruelling 5km course.

In the Men’s relay, Tom Wood (Eryri Harriers) got the team off to a strong start, covering the first leg in 31:11, before handing over to Matthew Roberts (Calder Valley), who completed the 7.25km course in 32:05. Gavin Roberts (Calder Valley) took over on the last leg, to bring the team home in 6th place over all, completing his leg in a time of 33:16.

Bangor City 10km

Rachel Shipley (Abergele) won the Women’s 10km in 40:29 with Eleri Hallam (Y Felinheli) in second and Kay Hatton (Worth Wales Road) in third with times of 47:12 and 47:12.

In the Men’s race Llyr (North Wales Road) took victory with a time of 37:03. Peter Lowe (Childs Ercall) and Joseph Matthews (Betsi Runaways) were seance and third with times of 37:18 and 37:50.
