Northern Ireland Cross Country International inc. Home Countries & Celtic International - Saturday 19th January - Belfast 

Welsh Athletics and Welsh Schools' teams performed strongly at the Home Countries and Celtic Cross Country International Cross Country in Belfast on Saturday afternoon. Highlights for the Welsh team included a 6th placed finish for Charlie Hulson in the Senior Men's race, a win in the u23 Women;'s race for Bronwen Owen and a 2nd placed finish for Samia Jones in the u17 Women's race. Meanwhile, Remi Adebiyi and Ffion Higginson were top finishers for the Welsh Schools teams in the Junior races, finishing 16th and 25th in their respective races.

Chevron Houston Marathon and Half Marathon - Sunday 20th January - Houston, USA

Natasha Cockram (MMRT) ran to a huge lifetime best performance at the Chevron Houston Marathon on Sunday morning, running 2:34:16 to finish in 11th place in the Women's elite field. Meanwhile, Dewi Griffiths (Swansea Harriers) showed he's getting back to his very best form as he clocked 61:44 to finish 8th in the Men's Half Marathon event. 

Cardiff Met Grand Prix 2 / Non Thomas Open - Sunday 20th January - NIAC, Cardiff 

Cardiff sprinter Jeremiah Azu showed he's in great form aheasd of next weekend's Welsh Senior Championships as he clocked 6.73 for the fastest time in the Men's 60m at the Cardiff Met Grand Prix 2 on Sunday. In the Women's 60m, Mica Moore also clocked a quick time in her first indoor race for 2 years as she ran 7.56 for fastest time of the day. In the Men's 800m, Liverpool's Jamie Webb clocked a new All Comers record with 1:47:63, whilst Kieran Clements won the 3,000m in an impressive 7:55.

Speedway 10k - Sunday 20th January - Beachley 

There were some blistering 10k road times at the Speedway 10k on Sunday, with Cardiff's Ieuan Thomas finishing 8th in 30:33. Cardiff Met athlete Jake Smith finished 2nd in 29:45 with Cardiff's Matt Clowes 3rd in 29:47. Steve Morris (Cardiff AAC) also clocked a new road PB with 32:09. Meanwhile, Caryl Jones was the first female finisher as she clocked 33:30. 

CF64 Multi-Terrain Race - Sunday 20th January - Cosmeston Lakes 

Penarth & Dinas Runners put on the second edition of their CF64 multi-terrain race on Sunday morning at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park. Conditions were much kinder than last year, but the winner of the men’s race was the same with Luke Williams of San Domenico again coming in first, a minute ahead of Oliver Williams (White Rock Runners). The ladies title was claimed by Fiona Bussell who made it a double for San Domenico.

Les Croupiers 10 Mile Handicap - Sunday 20th January - Cardiff 

At the annual Les Croupiers 10 mile Handicap, performance of the day came from Tamara Beach, who broke the hour mark clocking 59.47 as she prepares for her marathon debut in London with coach Phil Cook. Fastest man on the day was under 20 athlete, Dylan Nazareth of Cardiff Archers, who came home in 57.01.

Gladstein Invitational - Saturday 19th January - Indiana, USA

Cardiff's Michael Ward clocked 4:06 to finish 2nd in the Men's Mile race at the Gladstein Invitational on Saturday.
