Cardiff Met Christmas Classic
The traditional pre Christmas festival of competition took place this Sunday at NIAC. Although (maybe!!) famous for its Santa Dash, the meeting produced some fantastic performances to round out the year.
With 7 heats of 3000m on the track, there was always potential for some top class performances. The women also performed well in the mix graded races, with Jenny Nesbitt (Cardiff) running a 20 second personal best to move herself into 9th on the UK All Time List, and second on the Welsh All Time List. Her time of 8:44.92 was also a Welsh All Commers Record.
In the 3000m Race Walk, Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Bethan Davies (Cardiff), walked away from the field, stopping the clock at 13:17.38.
