We hope you’ve enjoyed your Bank Holiday Weekend - there were some great performances that we’ll cover in this week's round-up!

The World Relays took place in Poland Silesia, where Joe Brier (Matt Elias) competed for Great Britain in the 4x400m relay. Brier set the team off with a swift 47.2 leg but unfortunately, the team didn't qualify for the final as they finished 5th in their heat. Nevertheless, Brier noted:

"Great opportunity to lead off Great Britain in the 4x400m this weekend, can’t wait for the next"

The Welsh Athletics Track Invitational took place on May 1st. The events programme consisted of distances from 300m to 3000m where athletes from U15's to Senior competed. The highlight of the event was in the 800m where Ben Reynolds (Arwyn Davies) and Remi Adebiyi (Darryn McAtee) battled it out. The victor was Remi Adebiyi with a time of 1:52.88 and Ben Reynolds coming 2nd in 1:53.50.

Head of Competetions Rhiannon Linington-Payne:

"The first event that was able to be extended beyond those with elite exemption took place in Newport last Saturday and it was fantastic to see so many athletes performing well after such a long period away from racing."
