Swansea Bay 10K inc Welsh 10K Road Race Series Preview

The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k returns for its 42nd race on 17 September 2023, and takes place along the beautiful and iconic sweep of Swansea Bay. The 2023 race will host the fifth and final fixture in the Welsh 10k Road Race Series.

Currently leading the men’s series is Jonathan Butler (Swansea Harriers) with 59 points, followed by teammate Dewi Griffiths (Swansea Harriers). Both athletes were part of the winning team at the recent Welsh Road Relay Championships, with Griffiths securing the fastest leg of the race. Griffiths finished second at last years edition with a time of 29:36 minutes.

Michael Roderick (Tri Hard Harriers) follows the Swansea Harriers athletes in third with 53 points.

Donna Morris (Builth & District AC) leads the women’s series with 109 points, having competed in all four previous races, including Newport, Caerphilly, Porthcawl and the Helena Tipping 10K.

Morris is followed by Clara Evans (Pontypridd Roadents) in second with 59 points, Evans has competed in both the Caerphilly & Porthcawl 10K in which she finished second.

Alaw Evans (Les Croupers) completes the top three as we head into the final race of the series. Evans currently sits with 59 points, and recently took victory at the CDF 10k and a third place team finish at the Welsh Road Relay Championships.
