Local Lockdowns - Update
16/09/2020 00:00, In Blog /
The introduction of further local lockdown restrictions from today to now include Bridgend County Borough, Newport County Borough, Blaenau Gwent County Borough and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough by the Welsh Government, and with Caerphilly County Borough and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough already under restrictions, means the following is now in effect for all of these areas:
- No athletes, coaches, officials or staff residing in the affected boroughs to attend athletics activities outside the borough e.g. competitions, training, face to face education courses
- Affiliated clubs and running groups are advised to continue adhering to the latest Return to Athletics guidance. Local lockdown measures mean that affiliated clubs and running groups should exclude any members living outside of the affected boroughs from attending training sessions inside the borough
- No athletes or coaches residing outside the affected boroughs to attend facilities or training sessions in any of the boroughs.
The Welsh Athletics approach to Local Lockdowns will be as above for those Boroughs in lockdown, and for those areas where cases are above 30/100,000, they will be on the alert with no new events booked in those boroughs until cases are back below 30/100,000. This currently applies to Carmarthenshire.
Please continue to follow the latest guidance and try to stay up to date with the ever-changing situation before planning activity or travelling to train.
