Nominations from clubs will then be collated by Zoe Holloway who will inform the Regional Council of the regional recipients. Each recipient will receive a framed Regional Volunteer Award certificate and a hospitality invitation to a Welsh Athletics Championship event!

Awards will be presented at a National Championship or club night.

RVA Nominations January 2022

The following South recipients were presented at the 2021 Cardiff Cross Challenge…

Congratulations to Stewart Davidson nominated for his contribution to club and South region. Stuart is a coach at Bridgend AC, timekeeper, endurance official and event adjudicator.

“Stuart attends all weathers on Senior coaching nights and putting in long hours at events (until Covid) and is Co-Director for the massively successful Porthcawl parkrun that has benefitted the whole of the local Running Community of Clubs in the Bridgend area".

Congratulations to Chris Pratt nominated for his contribution to club and South region. Chris is a Club Chair, Membership Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator of Ogmore Phoenix Runners.

Chris was nominated alongside two other South nominees Iwan Dowie (Cornelly Striders AC) & Dawn Meynell-Jones (Rhondda Valley Runners).

“The three nominees noticed that there was a reduced participation amongst club members with regards to WA organised events during lockdown. Working together they've organised and intra club participation events over the social media encouraging participation rather than the speed of each athlete. During the event clubs were encouraged to use social media to show so how many athletes had been participating and where this was happening between the three clubs of Rhondda valley, Cornelly and OPR”.
