At the ADIDAS MANCHESTER MARATHON
SUNDAY 18th April 2027
Building on the success of the last year’s event the Masters Marathon International for 2027 will again be incorporated into the Adidas Manchester Marathon on Sunday 18th April 2027. We had a great year last year, with not only Louise Flynn winning the Masters Women’s race outright, she also finished 3rd overall woman in the race!
Once again the Adidas Manchester Marathon has kindly given us the opportunity to hold our Master International marathon event within their race. Everyone who took part in it last year loved the atmosphere and the way that the race organisers looked after the masters taking part. spring marathon season, but also to be part of a big city marathon.
As usual the Adidas Manchester Marathon is already sold out, BUT they have reserved spaces especially for the England and Wales Masters Teams so if selected you are guaranteed a spot. If you have already entered Adidas Manchester Marathon and are selected for Wales, it will also be easy to ensure you are transferred to the Masters international.
Athletes have to be eligible to compete for Wales and registered athletes in Wales. It is expected that all athletes competing for Wales would take part in at least one Welsh Championship in the preceding or current year.
Teams of up to 8 male and 8 female athletes will be selected in FIVE year age groups from 35 to 75+.
Athletes are expected to pay their own race entry fees, make and fund their own travel and accommodation arrangements for Manchester. All athletes representing Wales for the first time are entitled to a free Welsh vest and are entitled to purchase a kit package.
PLEASE only express an interest if you are available on the date of the event. Whilst we accept athletes get injured between expressing an interest and selection, we have had a number of late withdrawals due to change of availability. This often results in others missing out on an opportunity. The MINIMUM standards for the marathon are:

We will be considering marathon performances over the past 15 months when determining the teams. Teams will be selected on 9th December 2026 and successful athletes informed as quickly as possible afterwards.
