- Greg Ashcroft's funeral is the 15 Sept. 2 pm at Caersalem chapel, Aber Bargoed onto Bedwellty church for internment and refreshments at Blackwood cricket club
The Welsh athletics community will be sad to learn of the death of Cardiff AAC’s Greg Ashcroft, who was a member of the club’s British League team in the early 1970s. He was an outstanding sprinter and prior to the formation of Cardiff AAC, was a member of Cardiff’s Birchgrove Harriers.
Like all good Welsh sprinters, he was also an outstanding winger and played rugby union for Pontypridd. He went North to play for Dewsbury in 1972 and played in their 1973 championship winning side. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
