Autumn Programme of Courses Kicks Off Across Wales

This September, we were proud to launch our Autumn programme of courses across Wales. It’s been fantastic to see so many coaches, leaders, and aspiring volunteers getting involved right from the start of the season.
The timing couldn’t be better. Following the excitement of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, where athletes on the global stage wowed audiences, we’ve seen a significant uplift in demand for our On Track courses. This growth is a real testament to the dedication and hard work of our clubs, who continue to inspire participation and strengthen athletics at every level within our communities.
As many of you will be aware, UKA has introduced a mandatory training cost increase. To ensure we can absorb this while maintaining high-quality provision, some of our course prices have been adjusted. In addition, wider cost pressures such as venue hire and tutor fees have also impacted our programmes.
That said, we want to reassure you that we remain fully committed to working closely with our stakeholders to deliver the best possible value. Every course is designed to equip our coaches and leaders with the skills and accreditation they need, while keeping costs as fair and accessible as possible.
We are proud to report that our recent external verification of course content and delivery was completed with no recommendations, recognising the consistently high standards we deliver across all programmes. This recognition is a reflection of the consistent quality of our tutors, venues, and learning resources, and it reassures all participants that they are receiving the very best standard of training.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to share that following a UK-wide consultation, we’ll soon be announcing new developments in our course provision. These changes are designed to empower coaches with greater knowledge and skills, enabling them to nurture more confident and capable athletes, and help build a thriving, connected athletics community for everyone.
