14/04/2022 00:00, In Blog /
Over the weekend of the 9th - 10th April, Cybi Striders, an Anglesey based running club put on a 24hr run in aid of the people of Ukraine, for anyone to attend, from club runners to members of the public.
180 people of all ages joined Cybi Striders at Treborth running track for the 24 hour run to raise money for the people of Ukraine, the youngest was 6 months and the oldest 75.
The idea was to have at least one person on the track at Treborth in Bangor at all times. This was achieved, and even more impressively, at one time there were 40 people running or walking, and when the clock struck midnight, there were 21 people on the track.
Bex and Dan ran 106 laps each, the length of a marathon, whilst others ran/walked 106 laps over the 24 hours to complete a marathon distance, while others just came to do a couple of laps to help.
The full stats are below:
- completed 4537 laps
- covered 1928.22 Km, just short of Lviv but to
- so far we have raised £3746, smashing the target of £2000
